Article and Photographs by: Zoya DavisJimani Collections is a two part company who empowers Kenyan women and provides beautiful jewellery to their customers. The company’s main goal is to educate women while helping them to help themselves, thus helping their families and ultimately, their community.
Through innovation and design they are able to create pieces like the Nikki Necklace ($32USD). This piece is made of bass with a double looped pendent, placed on a gold chain. It’s beautiful for everyday looks and has a natural vibe to it. Every individual hook, screw and swirl is more than just a piece of metal, it is a story of a determined woman. Women like Diana are taught how to make the products sold on Jimani’s online store. Through this job, she is able to support a family of four with her motorcycle-riding husband. Many of these women have ambitions extending beyond creating jewelry, like Fidelia, who aspires to start her own business sewing grain sacks and has future plans to purchase land in rural areas. Jimani Collections is more than just a jewelry company, it’s a company who helps build futures and with each purchase a customer makes, they invest in more than just the contents of their jewellery box, they invest in empowering woman. by Zoya Davis WillLand Outdoors is a Canadian brand who is committed to developing the very best outdoor gear for Canadians. Wandering through starry skies And when tomorrow's day arrives I'll be a moment closer to the Brightest Hour here with you One step closer, getting brighter One step closer, getting brighter Wandering through starry skies And when tomorrows day arrives I'll be a moment closer to the Brightest Hour, here with you. Nothing worth having comes easy, we've all heard that before. It's true - and so are a bunch of things our parents told us when we were younger. Trust me, it shakes you when you have these small, yet meaningful, epiphany. I have something in the works and while it's still in the very early stages, I cannot wait to come together with my creative bests to turn out what is - hopefully - something we're proud of & that you want to read!

I know, why am I not asleep right now? It's because I make my own hours and sometimes there is no rest for the wicked! Or at the very least, for the very busy writer. By now you've all heard about Kermit from Disney's The Muppets dumping the infamous sex symbol, Miss Piggy. For those of you who grew up with the show like I did, this is just an inconceivable concept, especially when released that Kermit has a new girlfriend, Denise. I don't know about you all, but Denise is no Miss Piggy in my books and I am #TeamPiggy all the way! I just finished two articles for Gay Weddings Magazine (PDF files up to view under the "WEB" section of the website above) and I have to say, it's something a little different than what I've done before. With more to come for them, I also have now been chosen to generate content for a dating website, along with writing for a health blog. I got the chance to travel to Ottawa with my boyfriend to visit family, and we also went to the Ottawa Craft Beer Festival. I'll be doing a post solely about that because with a photographer boyfriend, how can you not?! We got to sample a delicious and interesting variety of beers and I can't wait to share some of my favourites with you! Hope everyone has a great Thursday! 💋 Megan xo. Happy Tuesday, my lovelies! If you are your own boss then you'll be able to empathize with my crazy-busy schedule lately. Getting myself out there and engaging in freelancing has left me with such a gratifying feeling - I love being able to make my own hours and work from wherever I deem most comfortable/creative! I could not have done it without the encouragement of all of you, especially my boyfriend. He even surprised me tonight with some beautiful jewellery, which will certainly be making an appearance in a photoshoot or two! If you want to see some shots beforehand, add me on Snapchat👻: chasermaddness While I attempt (even further) to regain control of my time management and organizational skills, take a peak under the "WEB" section to see an updated list of what I've written. There's a variety of articles, including upcoming fall fashion trends, building wardrobes, taking care of your sweaters (perfect for the upcoming pumpkin spice season!), date ideas for seniors, and tips for loved ones of those suffering from Alzheimer's disease. I'm going to be starting my YouTube channel soon, especially with certain goodies from some beautiful companies that are on their way. It's all a part of my #MeetTheMaker series so be sure to stay tuned for more info! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think, along with any topics you'd like me to cover! 💋 Megan xo. |
