There’s a fresh new take being brought to the fashion documentary world by Canada’s own Hina P. Ansari. The Canadian fashion journalist and editor’s film, “The Style Atlas,” will explore a fashion capital not traditionally found on the global fashion radar.
It will boast a never-before-seen cinematic style and reveal how society, religion, culture, economics and the country’s geo-political standing influence on Jakarta’s local fashion scene. “As an avid traveler and style watcher, I have always been intrigued by the stories of local designers in the cities I’m visiting, discovering how the unique perspective of the couturier always reflects their heritage and personal style,” says Ansari, Creator and Executive Producer. Production is set to begin on October 21 in Jakarta, Indonesia by internationally renowned Canadian production company Landed Entertainments. “Landed Entertainments is proud to collaborate with Hina P. Ansari to produce The Style Atlas,” said Executive Producer, Ali Mashayekhi. “We will bring our global production experience to compliment this dynamic and exciting travel exposé show.” Jakarta Fashion Week is the glamorous backdrop being used for the film, it will focus on Jakarta’s past, present and future in regards to fashion and style. It will feature exclusive interviews with a variety of designers, scholars, historians, government officials and the next generation of fashion players in Indonesia.
